HELP!!!! DYE FROM A/C Found in Blower Motor???

96 S320 with 29.000 miles I suspect the reason the dye is in the blower is due to the evaporator. I need help so please share your ideas.......

George

Sounds like you have a leaking evaporator...leak detector should pick that up quite easy through the center vents.

At least eyeball the TXV to make sure an O ring hasn't let go and somehow got dye across to the fan. Unlikely, but relatively easy. Otherwise..........evaporator seems "the usual suspect".

Below is a photo of an evap from a 1990 2.5 turbodiesel I removed earlier this year. The squirrel cages on the blower motor were quite green from the die. Hopefully you evap doesn't look like the one in the link below.
