1987 300E rebuilding driver's seat backrest

Anyone rebuilt the backrest on a 300E? My driver's seat has zero lumbar support and my back is killing me. Can it be done with the seat in the car? The seat bottom is fine, I just would like to get some more lumbar support in there. I have power seats, if that makes a difference.

Thanks,
Anthony

the seat can be rebuilt and it usually due to a compressed horse hair bad and/or lax wire cables holding the pad in place. You can do it in the car but it is eaiser out of the car. I have done it in the car before with no problems. The bottom cushion is too hard to do in the car.
