Does 98-99 E320 have mpg display?

I am looking at buying a 98,99 or 00 E320. I see that the 2000 E320 has a mpg dash display that is accessible through the scroll buttons on the steering wheel. Was this a new addition in 2000, or did the 98-99 E320 have an mpg computation that was accessible some other way (no steering wheel buttons in 98-99)?

- thanks

98-99 has a mpg gauge. It's simply a vacuum gauge. Useless.

Buying an S Class? What do you care about fuel economy?
Would you look at the read out and drive differently? I doubt it.

A W140 (96-99) may prove to be very sorted out, and reliable.
I shudder to think about what could go wrong ($$) with the first
year of a new model S class (2000) out of warranty.

The 98 E320 does not have a MPG readout or a vacuum gauge. I use the old fashion method, when you fill-up take the trip odometer reading and divide it my the amount of gas.

Oops, mis-read the model in question.
