85 Euro 16V. I've replaced:
Ignition coil
Ignition wires
Plugs
Distributor cap
Air filter
Fuel Pump
Fuel Filter
Was getting erratic idle, cleaned contacts on OVP relay(fuse never blown)and 2 other relays behind battery - cleared up idle problem. Ignition timing check out ok. New problem started and this only happens intermittently. Under hard acceleration (WOT)car dies, then when I take my foot of the gas, car returns to idle. Acceleration is great until it cuts out. Cold starting is still a bit tough(6 cranks). Mechanic has seen car twice and cant find problem.

Have the fuel system delivery tested. On the return line to the fuel tank the pump should deliver 1 liter(qt) in 25-30 seconds. There is a "screen" in the delivery side of the fuel distributor. If it's partially plugged the engine can run out of fuel at WOT.

AFTER checking what DOC said, replace the ignition coil. I have had more than 3 do this with a faulty coil.

Will check the fuel delivery and "screen" this weekend. As far as ignition coil, I just put in a Jacobs Omni ignition system with new wires 1 month ago - could it be faulty?
