W126 fog lights yellow/white
This has bothered me since I bought this car. I have one amber and one white fog. I took the amber apart one time and thought I would replace it with a clear. but it is much more involved, so I thought that it must be made this way. But yesterday I saw another of 300se with two clear. Can someone tell me what the norm is.
Thanks. |
On mine the yellow is a fragile piece of yellow glass over a standard white bulb. One of yours may just have broken. It can be easily removed, if you can get to it.
Than information is compliments of a piece of road debris. |
My 126 has white bulbs and yellow internal reflectors inside. Of course I have some funky European lamps. My 140 has white fog lamps that double nicely as city lamps...

Both my W126 are white H-3 fog lights with a yellow internal reflector. I've driven through all kinds of crazy weather and the yellow tint they give off really does make a difference in lighting contrast. I wouldn't change them to whites because they are functional the way they come stock... although strangely ugly when you see one coming at you.

Yes I will agree that they are ugly. However, they do in fact work.

I love my yellow fog lights... I think white is too bland, and people think you have your high-beams on... my 126 I had did have the euro headlamps with the white fogs... I would continually get flashed if I had them on... with my 124 never get flashed, cuz people know they are fog lamps. And I don't think they are ugly at all...
