ATF Smoke on 300-24 5th gear trans

Hello, some time ago i noticed white smoke going out from the exhaust, itīs ATF but donīt know which gasket blew off, no leakage visible from the under side.
Does it worth taking out the transmission or itīs something less complicated.
thanks
Enzo

if it is tranny smoke i believe that is a sign of a bad modulator on the tranny ... much simpler to change than the tranny itself. cheaper too.

trans smoke

i concur with prev post trans modulator has vacuum line.when diaphram breaks vacuum sucks fluid into intake and is burned.i have rebuilt several trannies because a bad modulator sucked the fluid dry but owner kept driving.[i am amazed at the number of people who believe that getting where they are going is more important than their wallet] david poole european performance dallas tx.

modulator

you will find it on the left side of trans about half way down from bell housing.you will need a 1/4 drive ratchet and 5mm allen socket and just be careful when you pull it out.david poole european performance dallas tx.

Trans out?

Hello David, do i have to take out the transmission in order to get that modulator?
I took the injection out and in the inlet manifold thereīs a pool of ATF, some vacuum line is sucking in the ATF.
Thnks

Modulator Out

Thanks for your help, i managed to take out the modulator and will buy it from the MB local dealer. I was upset for having a major maintenance on my engine and tranny last year, i spent some $4.000 and íīm not in the mood of having such a show this one.
