Interior light problems 1989 300E

I have a 1989 mercedes 300E. On Friday I went to fill up with gas and after I filled up I wanted to see how much milage I get out of a tank of gas so I decided to push the button for the tripometer and as soon as I pressed it all the dash light, vent lights, a/c - heat control lights, and stereo lights turned off. The head lights, break lights and the dome lights all work fine. I check the fuses under the hood and cannot seem to find any problems (if I am looking in the right spot).

Could someone please help....

Thanks

Fab

If I remember this right, the trip meter is also the knob for adjusting the brightness of these things you mentioned. SO, what may have happened (especially if you didn't realize this knob rotated to change the brightness) is you may have inadvertantly turned the knob and turned the brightness all the way down. Try twisting the knob, I believe clockwise is brighter, should fix it.
If you ARE already aware of this then I would guess the dimmer was damaged when you pressed in the reset and now need a new one. Hoping for #1!
