Do R12 cars exhibit black death?

Just a wondering...

Never seen a problem with R12 cars, it seems to be R134a. Or is it just the type of compressors- I know Nippendesno's can create black death??

Any comments from someone doing a bunch of AC work?? Stevebl??

Any aluminum compressor can exhibit "black death".. IT is the aluminum that causes than black powder in the system.
