Do you need alignment with new Lower Control arm bushings?
I have about 60,000miles on my 99 C230K W202, and 5,000 miles ago the dealer wrote "lower control arm bushings worn and cracked". Is this normal for them to go this early on the w202 and what are the symptoms? I know at 100km/h + there is a very slight shaking in the steering wheel and this was more pronounced after the ball joint/steering shock job was done 5000 miles ago.
If I change these LCA bushings, do I need to take it for an alignment aswell or is that just for tie rods? Thanks alot guys if you can help me out much appreciated... |
Any front end suspension work requires an alignment. Taking it all apart, replacing parts and reassembling puts the components in a slightly different position.

Alignment "check" is a good idea.. not really much adjustment on that & most Newer MB's. Replacement bolts with "off-set" washers will allow for about .5 deg of alignment change for caster or camber..

Wow thanks for the great for the fast replies! Alignment I'll have done then when I get the work done. Anyway to check how much longer I can go with these bushings I have now? Car tracks and performs pretty good.
