removing trans modulator 380sl

Just how do you remove a part that has no visible exterior screws, nuts or bolts holding it in?
do I just take a vise grip and twist the whole thing out?

modulator

there is a flat bracket on the top side of the modulator holding it down on the trans.there are two 5mm allen bolts in either side of the bracket.there is almost no access to these so you might want to recruit a 10 yr old with small fingers. good luck david poole dallas tx.

david,
you're not kidding!
I just worked 2 hours trying to get at those 2 allen bolts. I even cut an allen wrench down and tried to make my own bit to fit in a ratchet but it is too clumsy. I got one of the bolts loose, now I just have to get to the other one. I think I'll have to buy a 5mm bit from sears for this job.
another case of 80 cents O-ring, $12 tool for the job, much more time than it should take and I hope I dont break anything else while I'm in there.

just like most other things I've done on this car, I'm sure second time around I could do it in no time flat.
