ACC Retrofit Performance Issues: Updates?
Hi, I just wondered if anyone had experimented further with improving the performance of the W126 ACC after conversion to R-134a? I thought about converting to a parallel-flow condenser; I found some aftermarket units, but it is a tight fit and these are sort of generic units; I was hoping someone had blazed the trail. I also thought about adding additional condensing in the form of Spin-Fin condenser tubing salvaged from an old GE central unit and placed under the front; Hummm....
I won't be embarrased by my AC (lack of) performance, so my car doesn't get much use in the summer. I'm considering reconverting to R-12. My parent's '94 Suburban has about the best performance of any converted unit I've seen; wish I could match it, and I'd be satisfied. |
