A question for the pros.

Hi,
I bought a '95 E420 recently. The car was originally sold in Canada to a NHL player. It was then brought into California and set up to pass Cal regs.
I am aware of the harness and timing chain guide problems. My question is: Did MB continue up to the end of the 124 series to install biodegradable harnesses and plastic guides? My car was sold in August of 1994. Or did they improve these areas?
Thanks,
Anziani

Many 04/1992 thru 11/1995 suffer with that problem..look at this post.

Thanks M.B. Doc,
I have read all of those posts. My hope was that MB made some changes in the later models. Apparently that didn't happen.

If it's any consolation V8 harnesses don't seem to be quite as bad, they are a little easier to replace and they cost a little less.

Thanks,
I'm not too worried about the harness. It is the plastic timing chain guides that are the big expense.
