What does OE stand for?

Is there an index that shows what commonly used abbreviations mean?

What is the purpose of a sway bar? I do not see why it would be needed..Thanks in advance

c230man 04-09-2001 02:44 PM

OE-original equipment
OEM-original equipement manufactured

I have figured out that LOL probably means Laugh Out Loud...is that correct?

IMHO - In my humble opinion.

MBenzNL 04-09-2001 06:18 PM

Steve, thanks. That is something I would never have figured out!

MBENZ,
That is so funny. Yes it mean's LOL. I remember when I first started using the internet some 5 years ago, I thought LOL meant exactly as it sounds out loud, LOL, and just thought it was some kind of term like "that was funny" or something. I used to also think BRB meant BRRRR for being cold!!

Steve,
I thought it was HONEST Opinion? I guess there's not much of a difference.

Thanks, John...

That link to the automotive abbreviations went directly into my bookmarks!:D

And "c230man" (sounds like an invitation to visit the dentist, "see tooth hurty-man") OEM actually means Original Equipment Manufacturer...

MBenz:

Yes, LOL means "laughing out loud". And Steve already covered IMHO, "in my humble opinion". There's also these:

ROFL - Rolling On Floor Laughing.

ROFLMFAO - Rolling On Floor Laughing My F%#*ing A@* Off.

LMAO - Laughing My A#@ Off.

FYI - For Your Information.

FWIW - For What It's Worth.

AAMOF - As A Matter Of Fact.

AIYDK - As If You Didn't Know.

ICYDK - In Case You Didn't Know.

AIIC - As If I Cared.

BTDT - Been There, Done That.

BTW - By The Way.

LNGT - Let's Not Go There.

Longston:OEM manufacturer?i dont think so

brianw 04-10-2001 07:03 PM

MBenz,

The first time I saw LOL, I thought it meant "Lots Of Love" and figured there were some really friendly board members. After reading some "funny" posts it dawned on me.

What does YMMV mean? I think that's the one I've seen

longston 04-10-2001 07:09 PM

c230man's Argument Is So Compelling...

But it's wrong...:p Sorry...:(

If you checked the links to the thread and website that JCE posted, you would have read:

Bottom line though; OE is Original Equipment, and is expected to be the EXACT SAME PART as you'd get at a dealer. OEM means Original Equipment Manufacturer, and means only that the manufacturer has supplied parts to Mercedes.
Why do you think that it means what you think it does?...

And BrianW, YMMV: Your Mileage May Vary. It means you may not get the same results...
