Replacing Window Seal 240D

I wanted to replace the seal that the window rides in. Does the window have to be removed?

I did this job some time ago, but I am quite sure that the window does not need to be removed. I believe the window channel can be adjusted from inside the door to allow for the old channel lining to be removed and the new one pressed in place. I think you need to cut the channel at the corners slightly to ease installation around corners. Perhaps there are others who have done the job more recently and can offer help. Anyway, I am sure that I did not remove the window from the door to do it.
