So, I kept seeing them in the doorjam area, drivers, along the sill. I figured maybe they were living in teh drain rails or something. But we have had several heavy, long rains and they should have been flushed out. Then I find a nest, brushed it out, and no ants for 2 days. Then they come back! same place! Always about a dozen of them. Then yesterday I left a drink in the cupholder, and it was covered in them. Where the hell are they living/breeding? How do I get rid of them? I don't want my car to smell like Raid for years.

Don't leave food in the car, and stop parking it under trees.

I can honestly say I have never had such a problem with a car. But I have worked on a boat that sat under trees for years. The ants that came out of that thing were amazing!

Buy three or four different packages of ant poison in plastic containers. Look for different chemicals. Some kill quickly, some slowly, and others prevent juveniles from maturing.

Once they find the bait leave it alone for 10 days. If occurs again, repeat. If their trail is somewhere where the traps will move or fall tape them in place.

is this a w202 issue? I know wont or ever have it but I read on MB uk forum and one guy opened his w202 driver door speaker grille to find mud and some sort of insects in there...gross

I have had to set off one of those bugs bombs a couple of times over the years in cars I've owned. Once was for ants. Another time was for spiders that someone brought in with some plants. Worked both times with no ill effects and no residual odors.

hmmm. i had the same problem with my 124 86 before... its natural for old cars to have some bugs in it

maybe someone left a candy/wraper in your car check everything out under the seats front rear remove back seat foam, trunk just to be sure,

if left with no options deal with the insects just like how you treat your home spray it! use a water based insectiside close it for half an hour then leave it open to let fresh air in use an eletric fan to blow it out

thats how i cleaned out my car from those bugs! insect free for a years now

You might also park in the sun for a day. The heat that builds in the car should kill any insects.
