1992 190e slow to shift form 2nd -3rd gear
 

Help! I have a 1992 MB 190e 2.3. I have had the car since 1996. Recently the transmission started shifting erractly from 2nd to 3rd. sometimes it won't even shift out of second. other times it shifts normally. then there are times that it will get to 4K rpms before shifting. I never know what to expect.

how many miles on this car?possible dirt build up on filter screens in and out of govenor.[requires removal of pan and valve body]

Thanks for your response. There is 168500 miles. Is this something I can do myself?

yes it is but with out access to a lift the job is a bitc.........if you have or can find a lift to use for about 4 hrs i can give you a complete guide to cleaning the screens.
