minor starting issue
On our 300CE you have to hold the key in the start position just an extra second or so to start the car.
in a typical car it seems like it is turn and start. This one you have a couple of extra cranks on the starter. no issues once it starts..... i haven't pulled plugs or anything to check.... gets 24 mpg on highway...19 or so driving around town.. wires seem fine... if anyone has any thoughts, chime in... it's really no big deal in the grand scheme of things..just a little aggravating |
Check the ovpr...although this will not stop the car starting it will present symptoms like yours.
Also...it may need correction of the a/f ratio. The Coolant Temp sensors don't often fail but you can easily check the ohms value cold. The 6 cylinder often burns the distributor rotor....also, coils get weak. The year of the vehicle ? . |
vehicle is a 1989.... ovp is fine...
i guess i should check or change out the rotor at some point... |
Hard start
If you're using premium gasoline you might try switching to regular. This is a common complaint with 103 engines!
Good luck Mike |
use mid grades in both 103's that we have... the sedan runs flawlessly and is peppier than the CE... go figure... the CE handles better, however.
