Srs Light

I have a 89 300 E. The SRS light comes on intermittently but has increased in how often it's coming on. What does this light mean exactly. Its been doing this for some time but it's happening more and more. Please advise.

Your battery is not putting out enough current. Could be because your alternator's voltage regulator is worn and needs replacing, or perhaps because one or more battery cells is failing.

Could also be that your belt is slipping.

srs

also one important thing it could be a worn out clock spring under the steering wheel.if the light comes on while driving and a change in direction [turn wheel] makes it go off you might consider this.

SRS light

89 300e Had a contact ring and brushes. If light goes off when the steering wheel is moved the contact rings are broken, Replace contact rings and brushes and observe all precautions regarding SRS systems!

more often than not, i have seen that the area under the steering wheel where the brushes contact, has become contaminated, seems that armorall and other products get in there and will cause a no contact condition, cleaning the area usually fixes the issues
