My gawd - a 350SE? *gasp*

Thats one heck of a gas guzzler.

Even with a $10,000 salary per month (what more a 100), I'd think twice about having this bottomless pitt guzzler.

I thought maybe we could re-engineer it to run on Plutonium (bg).

Production Codes

First, I do not accept solicitations, I only have a small amount of knowledge to share. Secondly, I believe the second tag you listed was a list of options on the car. Here is a link to the Production Codes on Mercedes. It will tell you what each of the 3 number sets stand for. Including Paint codes, Interior color, etc..

Test done

Steve, your test help a little. Mixture was too lean. After adjustment engine could work at less RPM, than before. But it has stopped after a minute of running and as usual didn't want to start again.

Now we can hear a whining sound. I did not determined from where it came. Somewhere from fuel distributor. Or maybe from one of the injectors on the right (2-nd) row of cylynders.

All of the spark plugs are flooded with fuel again. We cleaned them, but engine did not started on second try.

Without some tools this is going to be tough.

Does the engine run smoothly during the time it runs? How long does it run? Knowing fuel pressure here would be a benefit.

You might try lifting all the injectors out of the cylinder head (still connected to the fuel distributor). See if they leak when the fuel pump runs. (Do you know how to make the fuel pump run?) Try jumping the fuel pump relay and verify the injectors don't leak. Then depress the plate in the airflow meter. Fuel should come out of all injectors evenly. BE CAREFUL the sprayed fuel will make a big fire if ignited.

BTW you might try jumping the pump relay and see if the engine runs any longer before going to all the other trouble.

OK, will go further

First of all, I must apologize for my long tonque. It will never happen again.

NO. The engine does not work smoothly at any time. It starts and works ONLY if accelerator is "in floor". Works for about a 40 sec. (not more) and then: RPM kicked down once (for a 1000 I think), 10 sec, then once again and... dead.
The fuel pump works normal, we tried to close the jump to be sure the fuel is delivered all the time the engine runs.

Well, we'll do the second test and post the results.

P.S. I've found this thing: on the ignition distributor there is a vacuum corrector. It has two connections. We connected one of them to the input collector (as done in russian cars) only for ignition advance. Yesterday I've found in the Inet a scanned page from MB manual: it has two chambers (advance and retard) and they must be connected to the three-way valve. We got only one such valve: on the wall near the front window. Too far I think. Is this correct connection?

P.P.S. Remember, I've got photos...
