'97 E420 Key Won't Come Out!!!
 

Help! I've purchased a 1997 E420 that was stolen. I cannot get the key out.

I have the original remote, and I can get the alarm activated and de-activated... but I can't remove the key! It turns (and hopefully, after I fix a few things under the hood it should start) but i can't remove the key.

Any ideas??

Pull like hell on it, if it won't come out you'll need a new lock cylinder. OR there may be something that keeps the key from coming out unless the trans is in P, but I don't think that's right, I think the interlock just keeps the key from going all the way to the "0" position (off), which then results in the key not coming out. Any idea if the key is going all the way to the left? I suppose nothing to compare it to. You got a manual (owners manual) you can look at to help direct you to how it's supposed to work? Any other 96-97 W210 owners can verify this? 98 and up had a different ignition switch, so not a good comparison.
