1994 S 600. Traction control keeps comming on???

I just purchased a 1994 S 600. I love it first of all. GREATcar. Sometimes the ....i think its says SAR light comes on on the dash and i loose power. I read the manual and it states that the traction control system has been activated and i is supposed to cut power back. I can reset it by turning off the ingnition and restart the car. Can i turn the darn thing off of disable it ???? ANY help is greatly appreciated!! cibrspeed@yahoo.com

The engine management system is completely computer controlled.

IF the ASR lamp is comming on by ITSELF then the problem(fault code) would be stored in the EA/CC/ISC computer...IF the ABS lamp also comes on then the problem would be stored in the ASR computer.

YOU need a MB tech with diagnostic computer that can scan that or THOSE systems..

The abs light does not come on just ther asr. The car looses power. I can reset it by taking the key out of the ignition and turning it a few times .
