Anyone know the spring pad / buffer. Part numbers for the w124 my local mercedes dealer can't find them, i know the sizes:
1 bump - 8mm 2 bump - 13mm 3 bump - 18mm 4 bump - 23mm I need them for the rear, I have put in lowering springs and need to fine tune the ride height. For the rear is 4 bump the thickest? or is there a 5 - bump from another model that would work? Thanks, Richard

Richard,
Is your rear too low (the car's, of course :^) ) compared to the front? why do you you want the thickest? Most people want the thiniest? Just curious...

Spring pads
Richard,
Don't have the numbers in front of me but they are the same for a 201 chassis. I've cut pieces of nylon conveyor belting in order to fine tune the heights on my 190/5.6 and was using scales to get the balance correct. Remember where the pad goes, half way from the pivot point to the upright, which means the thickness increased raises the car twice that amount. So if you replace an 8mm. pad with a 18mm. pad, the car will be 20mm. higher roughly. Maybe the dealer can find the pads under the 190 parts catalog on his CD, if not, do a search as it has been on here before. Tobias MB 4 MBs |

w124 w201 spring pad numbers
Webmaster posted these numbers awhile back.
Here are the Spring Pad thicknesses: 201 321 09 84 - 8mm 201 321 10 84 - 13mm 201 321 11 84 - 18mm 201 321 12 84 - 23mm There is also: 201 325 09 44 - 8mm rear I am guessing that 201 325 xx 44 designates the rear. [Edited by yal on 04-13-2001 at 01:25 PM] |

Wow...I really don't know, like J.HIDALGO said not many people have gone the other way. I could have sworn I had a 4 bump pad in my rear i'll check later...is it possible your dealer was just checking local inventory only. Try submitting a part request in the partshop section and see if mercedesshop can help you out.
