w210 rear door lock sometimes doesn't unlock...adjustable?
Is there some adjustment for the rear door locks on the W210? When I unlock the doors the button goes up but sometimes the outside handle won't open the door. The inside release always works. If I take the inner cover off will there be an adjustment in there or will I need to replace a part that is wearing/breaking?

No adjustment that I know of
Maybe something worked itself loose?

I know you've been working on yours of late. Was the battery disconnected? Is it possible it needs to be reprogrammed/reset similar to windows and seat memory?
With key on try sitting in back and holding lock unlock buttons for 5 seconds??? |
I currently have the rear door apart to replace the regulator. I looked to see if there is an adustment and I sure don't see one.

Thanks, it sounds like it might be a failing part then...I'll have to have a look-see myself as what's involved.

BUMP. any new developments here?
I took door panel off and poked around, then the latch started working again. Today it failed again. I'm perplexed. |
I believe Marty's started mysteriously working again too....maybe something needs to be lubed after 10 years?

That's what I'm thinking. Time for some more white lithium grease.

The passenger side rear door in my 300TD is doing this, too. I thought it was a vacuum problem at first, but at times the door will not even open using the inside handle.

I've ignored this problem and now it is doing it again...it looks like the lock itself has a problem...I found the PN on the EPC and found one on ebay for $35 new ($150 MSRP) so I ordered the ebay one and will just replace it but once it is out I can get an idea if it is something fixable.
FYI, mine will work fine with the outside handle once the inside handle is used to open the door, but once you lock it again it will sometimes refuse to open from outside (until you use the inside handle again). Apparently these parts fail quite frequently and dealers keep them on hand. They are the same part from the C class, but the right and left sides are different PNs.
