1987 190E Transmission want shift into drive
 
My 190E tranny will not shift into drive. In the last couple of weeks it seemed a little sluggish but when I would relax on the accelerator it would go ahead and shift. Now it will only rev up the engine and will not shift at all no matter how I manipulate the accelerator pedal. Suggestions please!!!

Check fluid level first.

Sorry but I have to ask, did you check while the engine is idling and transmission at neutral?

I checked it with the engine idling and transmission in PARK

Do mean in drive the car does not move , if so does it move in reverse.
