clk 320 factory alarm problem, suggestions appreciated

hi everyone,

i recently disconnected the battery in my 2000 clk 320 while i was away for a few months. after i reconnected the battery, my factory alarm now would go off (siren sounds and lights flash) everytime when i ARM it after i get out of the car and press the LOCk button on my my remote. when i press the lock button, only the front signals flash (rear ones don't anymore) and after they flash, the alarm would start to sound. the siren would also go off when the alarm arms itself about 30 seconds after the car doors are closed. i can still shut the siren off by pressing the unlock button on the remote.

basically it looks like all other functions work fine, except when the alarm is armed either automatically or manually, the siren would go off.

i checked all the fuses and didn't see problems there. tried disconnect and reconnect the battery in an attempt to reset the car's electrical system, but didn't help either.

if anyone has a solution or any suggestions, please help.

thanks,

terry

Since that alarm system is a computer & stores info, have it scanned for codes or problems...also the alarm siren is self contained & the failure rate on the early ones are HIGH.
