I wanted to know if a 1995 C280 with 80,000 miles should seep oil, because there is oil seeping out the back of the oil pan and I din't think the car should do this since it is a Mercedes. Can it be fixed? My mechanic said not too worry about it, but I would rather have an oil pan that doesn't seep oil. I have lowered the car, so I was wondering if scrapping/hitting the underside on something could have caused this.

Anyhow, your help is appreciated,

Steve : Thanks for all your help - I will be starting the dash project in a little over three weeks.

Troy, can you pinpoint the leak? Does it seem like it's coming from the oil pan itself? It could very well be the head-gasket too...

Don't worry about a little oil at the bottom of your engine as long as the car doesn't drop pools of oil or starts to use oil. It is quiet normal for a mercedes to sweat some oil.

To avoid your oil pan from touching the road and cracking up, you can install an original mercedes steel carter protection plate. These plates are great and saved my former 190D engines live for 4 or 5 times!

If you come up with any questions/problems while you are working on your dash, just mail me. rice inside... greetingz,
