94 e320 Broken Ball Joint... What else to fix?
Fortunately, it happened in the parking lot. Turned the wheel, bang = broken ball joint. It's my understanding that on 94 & 95 e320 control arm is replaced because ball joints and bushings are not replaceable.
Car has 142,000 miles. Flatbed operator used mini jack under broken control arm as replacement wheel. I wonder what else might have been damaged while dragging it onto flatbed? Ironically, last week I had the car to another shop to check suspension before I bought new tires. They said it needs ball joint, tie rod and (rear) thrust arm. Should I have the shop R&R any other items while they're doing the fore-mentioned? Should any of these items be replaced in pairs (right & left) at same time? I had car towed to a repair garage that says they can fix it, but I doubt they do many, if any MBs. Any suggestions that I can pass on to them are appreciated. Bob |

Bob, I strongly recommend that you have the suspension work done at a shop that knows MB automobiles ... either a qualified independent tech or a MB dealer.
