90 300TE Fusible Link
My 90 300TE has what looks like a fusible link on the driver's side inner fender well just forward of the fuse box. It has burned open. What does this circuit power and what amperage rating is it? Thanks for the help.

If you mean like a metallic strip fuse inside that small plastic "coffin", that's for the blower motor. The box I'm talking about is attached to the left strut tower, sound right?? I wouldn't call it a fusible link, that's like the aluminum insulated wire that melts inside when the amps get too high, after it burns the insulation is about all that's left.

What Gilly said. I've seen the little plastic fusebox melt on a number of cars. No big deal, so long as the 30 amp fuse is OK. You'll be the first to know if it blows... Melted fuse box can be easily and inexpensively replaced, if you are the OCD type. (Not that I know anyone like that!)

Blower motor fuse
Thanks, that answers some questions about the way the blower motor is, or sometimes, isn't working. I won't tell the whole story so as not to make fool of myself. Is the fuse a dealer-only item? And what's the OCD type? Thanks for the help.

OCD type mean obsesive-compulsive disorder, it was a joke.
30 amp strip fuse, might be able to source it somewhere else, like a part store. Just loosen the screws and take it in and show it to them. Other wise a dealer should have em on the shelf for a buck or two. Gilly
