500 sel engine tech question (thanks)
 

I am trying to "win" over a hopefully new customer. This is the first of many of his cars


1978 500 sel v8 58,000

It came in running on 5 cyl bad plugs and connections (bosch plat crap)

did the tune up (plugs, wires, air , oil, cleaned out the toilet bowl )

it runs good but i think there should be more to this beast of a motor in gear you can floor it and hold the breaks and it wond do much of anything but out on the road its pretty peppy kinda slow to acc but it will but i think it should be more checked the timing and the advance and thats working fine

its the same even if i shift it myself yes it will go to wot and the cat looks good but im gonna try to double sheck it

is the year correct? i didn't think a 500 was made in 1978

i was wrong it was a early 80's 500
