Very nice writeup. Does anyone know if that same adapter would fit the W202 models. The bosch I put on my c280 is not that impressive and my wifes c230 could probably use a new blade.
Thanks

If the blades are in decent condition, I would clean the windshield thoroughly ( with alcohol or a paste made with " BonAmi " ).
The point is, you need to get any oily residue off the glass.

Typically caused by blade not being at rt angle to the glass.

winter blade for W124?

Gentlemen,

What winter-specific (snow) blade do you suggest for the W124?

Thank you.
Bob

How do you alter the angle of the blade?

It's simply a matter of twisting the arm slightly. Some auto mfrs have a sophisticated tool for checking/correction. Personally, I grab a small rt angle and place it on the glass (mid-screen) to verify things are squared up. It's not a big deal, but can reduce or elimate the evil chatter.

Thanks...makes sense, I'll give it a try.

The gentleman did not recommend these blades unless you could be assured they would not encounter road debris. These blades are much tougher to find. They got a bad rap since people thought they were failing prematurely during winter use, and nobody seems to stock them. I had to order it on-line. I think it was around $15 + ship.

This is the tricky bit: the required adapter is P/N 48-06 and I got lucky and the little mom 'n' pop auto part store across from my office has a small plastic box with 15 common ANCO adapters....nobody else had these adapters. They are about $0.33 each. Without the adapter, you're SOL.

This setup is quiet, the blades last far longer than the BOSCH (which I've been thru many of) and the sweep is better...no more schmearing.
Anco has rebates for wiper blades: $10 for 2 AeroVantage or $15 for 2 HydroClear. Adapter P/N 48-06 is

HydroClear 99-24 is $12.94 each, adapter P/N 48-06 is $0.25 each but you have to buy 6 at ********.com. There is a 5% discount code at ********: 36759490781 expires on January 09, 2007

After rebate and discount, the total cost for 2 Anco HydroClear wiper blades is about $12 includes shipping.

Hey, great find! I didn't realize ROCK Auto would have the little adapter. That's a smokin' price on the HydroClears! SoCal should be the perfect location for use of those blades...if it ever rains

Please report back on how they're working for you. The next step down (AeroVantage) is very good if you don't have success with the HydroClear.

good luck!
