One more question. Does anyone know if the auto tranny for a 260e is the same as the one in all E-classes from 86-95? I have to get one for my 260e and was wondering if the tranny from say a 95' E320 would work? Is there a date code on the tranny? Thanks!

The 260E uses a smaller transmission than the 300E, you would need a drive shaft, torque converter, & other componets to install this trans. The 190E after 1987 uses a simular trans to the 260E & it will interchange.
