My 1983 240D's tripmeter and odometer randomly sticks at something .9 and will not rollover. If you reset the tripmeter, the odometer begins registering again until the tripmeter sticks again.

A long time ago, I saw an article on how to repair a speedometer gear that was spinning on its shaft at times resulting in the sticking. The odometer is otherwise extremely accurate and great for running time speed and distance road ralleys.
