Question Oil Change

'92 300SE

Removing oil filter cap seems to be more difficult than should be. Is there a special wrench or technique. Seems a shame to use channel-locks on this.

Also - recommended oil for this car with 106K miles?

Thanks!!!

Special tool

I just bought one from Phil to get my oil filter housing off. I recommend buying one so you do not ruin your filter housing.

Yes you need to buy the socket, Phil or your local MB dealer can get it for you for about $30. Once in awhile they pop up on ebay for about a third of that.

Supposidly there are aftermarket ones that work, but for $30 I'd just rather not mess with it and use the right one.
