I often wonder if these are some underhanded deals when they pop up.

My father did the same with his reservation (made late 1995) for a 1997 SLK 4 weeks before the car would be produced. He sold the reservation just 3 days before the final color and options had to be confirmed...

I personally think Ebay shouldn't allow such crap to be considered an auction post on their site. It pretty obvious the seller has changed their mind or can't come up with the cash to finalize the deal. Suckers bid away.
