Wiper Motor SWF or Bosch
 

I called the MB dealer to get the part number for the Windshield Wiper Motor for my 1993 300E 2.8 (4-door sedan) and was told that MB OEM used two manufacturers (SWF and Bosch) and that they are NOT interchangeable. So he wanted to see the old one in my car to know which one I need. Is there a way to find out which wiper motor (SWF or Bosch) is in my car without removing a lot of things and taking things apart?

Is there any markings on the wiper etc which will identify the manufacturer of the wiper motor?

(The dealer could not tell by looking at the VIN).

the vin wont tell you details like that, you will invariably have to get to the motor itself,

its the only way, dont hink its too hard to get at.
