Hello all,
My '82 300D/4.3L V6 ( http://pages.prodigy.net/rwooldridge/mercedes.htm )has a problem with the rear bumper rubber trim strip - the little plastic fingers that retain it are broken on the right side, and the strip is hanging down a bit. Is there an easy fix for this? Is the plastic retainer removeable/replaceable? Also, to TXBILL, is your car's front end lowered, or is it at the standard height? I'd like to bring the front of my car down a bit, does anyone have suggestions for doing that?

Thanks in advance for your help,
Richard Wooldridge

Are the platic hooks broken or did they come out of the bumper? This happened to me and I took the bumper off and then from the inside of the bumper, used a screw driver to get the hooks over the chrome and slid the strip side ways so that all hooks were engaged on the chrome. I then filled the gaps between the chrome and the back of the hooks with silicon so that it would never happen again. You'll know what I'm talking about when you get the bumper off. The entire job took about 45 minutes. The only tools you should need are a couple 17mm wrenches and a flat head screw driver.
