I have a 1985 190E with about 192K on it. I have been having trouble with it for awhile now. It will start up if the car has sat for a while and you give it gas when you turn it over. But you have to keep the accelerator pressed at all times to keep it running and if you let off it will stall out. Then it wont restart after it has stalled until you let the car sit for a long time approx 10 min or more. It is very frustrating. I have recently had my cars plugs, wires, coil, distributor cap, fuel filter, fuel pump relay, and exhaust manifold replaced. I just wanted to know if anyone knew what might be wrong?

Thank you,
Daniel Snyder

I would check the idle speed sensor.....
What kind of rpm's do you need to keep the car from stalling?

Good Luck with your 190E!!!

Oh and the car seems to have to idle above 1500 to keep running usually even higher than that maybe 2000 to at most 3000 rpms

Vagrant77,
I am sorry I do not know where the idle speed sensor is on the 2.3 cars. I have the 2.6 m103 motor. Hopefully someone with a 2.3 can help you out soon.
Good luck with your car and by the way, ask for a Haynes manual for your car on your Christmas list. I am!!!!!!!

I just wanted to tell everyone that the problem turned out to be that the plastic baffold on the bottom of the fuel injection/intake was cracked and cause a massive vaccume leak.
