Orthopedic control in seats in 1991 300SL
The lumbar supports in the seats of my 300SL do not seem to work when I move the controls but at times they pump up in both seats while driving.
Has anyone expereinced this problem? How does the system work? sldan |
That system is a demand system. IF you "open" the control valve(switch) the system senses lower pressure & runs the pump to BUILD back the system pressure. When the pump reaches & holds that pre-determined pressure it will shut-off.

Thanks M.B Doc,
Does all of the control take place in the unit with the thumb wheels located on the side of the seats? Is there a way to test the system? It appears to me that the ballons, for lack of a better word, are collasped all of the time until they magically pump up for a while while driving. Should the ballons react quickly to a change in the thumb wheel setting or is there a time delay before I should expect to feel a change? sldan |
