Question 1998 C230 Washer Fluid Spray

I have a 1998 C230. When I press the washer fluid switch to activate the spraying of fluid on to the windshield the fluid keeps spraying until I turn off the ignition switch .

That is, it does not turn off on its own.

Has anyone experienced this problem? If you have solved this problem do you have any suggestions to find where the problem lies.

When you operate the W/S washers on that 1998 car, a computer(ESI) is activating the washer motor thru a relay...possibly that relay is sticking.
