300TE tailgate latch adjustment
 

My sons 300TE tailgate sometimes wont open just by pushing the button.
If you push down on the gate a little it opens just fine.

Is there an adjustment point on the gate, or does it need some lube somewhere?

I hope not Gilly, as it had new ones last year according to the records I have.
Thats why I was asking about adjustments!

Mosy likely the tailgate has been slamed down by someone or people who don't reaalize it has automatic pull down to latch. The loop in the body is secured very well. I'd bet on the tailgate hook being moved slightly.

Loosen the bolts securing the hook in the gate. Make them firm, but not tight. A little trial & error till it operates correctly. Then tighten bolts.
