'00 C230k Vibrations have magically appeared ...

2000 C230 Kompressor
67k

Hello everyone -

It's been awhile since I've been on the forum - lots of things going on around here lately. Thought I would see if anyone could point me in the right direction of some vibration issues that have magically started just the past few days.

I went on vacation and, of course, had the car parked in the garage for two weeks while I was away. Before I left, no issues at all - everything was fine.

I had to run an errand last evening, and I have to get the car up to 65 or so right away as I'm out on a country road. Well ... this poor little car started vibrating something awful. The steering wheel was shaking terribly, and you could feel it in the seats.

As I approached 70-75, the vibration became less, but was still there. You can feel it somewhat as you approach 40-45, and by 50-55, it's VERY obvious.

Today, I started off with the bad vibrations, but as the car warmed up, they became much less noticable. As I was driving home, I barely noticed them. I've noted that they're the worst when the car is cold.

I don't think I've done anything to cause an issue. Car is not pulling at all, so I'm guessing that alignment/balance are OK. I just had the B service done, and the mechanic said that all of the front suspension parts look good. Ball joints also looked good he said.

The ONLY other thing I can think of is motor mounts. I had some issues with this causing vibrations on my 190e, but am not sure if this would be problematic on the 202.

Anyone have any ideas for me as to what this might be?

As always, many thanks for reading, and for your replies. Happy Thanksgiving!

-Michael
