1984 Chicago Auto Show photos

Thought you'd like to see these of the AMG display. My car was not in that show as I was told it was, but I still have DOT papers proving it's a real AMG. Not all bad.

I can spot SL, an SEC, and an SEL AMGs - I wonder where those cars are now...

On the top picture, about the Porsche 911, way in the background, I see that same fudge (or is it nut?) shop was there even in 84, sign hasn't even changed! Man, I was probably at that show too! Don't remember seeing these though, I wasn't into them there "furrin'" cars back then, I was such a hick! On the second pic, check out the S10 Blazer in the foreground, my brother had one about that time (may have been an S10 p/u), had a 2.8 V6 in it, man what a sled! Deadly slow, drove it a few times and thought I'd get run over by a semi! Love the extra "4 X 4" decal on the quarter panel.

Wow look at those nice AMG's, to bad all that GM junk is blocking them in the for ground.

I bet a lot of those AMG's are still around, they cost a lot so tended to not be beat to death.

Wow. Nice photos. Would be nice to see the entire collection.

Where are they now? Probably crashed, crushed (history), or stored in someones garage with 20K miles.

I would like to see more of these photos too. I have an '85 500SL AMG (appearance package only) and I love to see original photos of them.
