Cool cold start missfire on 190e

Hi all,
My 1985 190e california version has had a cold start misfire for a short time now. on first start of the day it will run on 2 or 3 cylindars for about 10 to 15 seconds. and will repeat this if it sits for an hour or more. so I am assuming that the fuel pump check valve is bad and dumping all the fuel pressure while sitting. If this correct then I need to replace it, so my question is, it is located at the discharge side if the fuel pump? If so then it is part of the banjo bolt at the fuel line? And do I need to remove the pump from the car to replace it?
thanks for any help
Joe
