260E difficulty starting
Oh another thing. I just returned from a week trip outside the country (travel for work). I returned and tried to start my 260E only to find that its very hard to start. I cranked for about 10 minutes before it will start. After driving for a while and I turned off the engine. I restarted teh car and it seems to start ok. Is this a problem withe the cold start valve? I wonder what the procedures are for diagnosis hard cold starting. As opposed to throwing replace parts and guessing at it?

Overvoltage protection relay is the most common problem.

On the same subject, with a similar 260E.
Everytime I start the car after it has been sitting for more than 8-10 hours, it takes forever to finally start....at least a good 10 to 15 seconds on the starter. This happen either in hot or cold weater, sitting in the garage or outside. Once it finally starts, it will start right up during the day, no hesitation. Plugs, cap/rotors were just replaced, but still the same problem. Could it be fuel related? |

I thought the fuel accummualtor was to prevent vapor lock and reduce pulsating generated by the fuel pump when running. I've checked the fuel pressure at the fuel distributor;62 pounds. Seems OK.
How about the fuel check valve by the fuel pump? |

I believe the accumulator also helps retain system pressure after the pump is shut off.
