For the last two summers I have been charging the A/C with R12. The charge lasts me one summer as I have a small leak. The A/C is not used from Sept to April. Now with R12 prices this is becoming expensive.
Die test shows a leak on the housing of the compressor. Question is can this small leak be fixed by any application of a compound and what would that be.

Alternate Freon Source
Don't know about a leak fixer but here's an interesting link for a R-12 allternate that you can do yourself.
Check it out: http://www.freeze12.com A case is $82.00, about $6.83 a can! |
