W202's first winter!
Hey guys,
My W202 C230K 99 is doing awesome! I just recently did the lower control arm bushings and most front suspension parts which are commonly worn on this chassis. So far the car in the last 1.5yr i had it has been incredible! (Knock on wood) However, this winter I have no choice but to drive it. This car, by the previous owner has never seen the snow. Im not too worried about traction issues as I just mounted new Michelin Artic Alpins to her. I rustproofed it last year (even though it didnt go out in snow) and just a week ago now again. I know W202s have a bit of rust issues but what should I do to preserve this baby looking its best forever and FREE from rust totally? How is the W202 in winter etc... Thanks! :) |
Did you do the LCA bushings youself?
|
No, McNally Auto did it.

Marko, after your car is exposed to a heavy dose of road salt wash the undercarriage at a car wash to mitigate the longterm effects of the road salt.

Rust issues?
News to me 10 winters and paint shines deeper than my granddad's 06 CLK500 No rust underneath either, anywhere. In fact, my aunt's C230 Coupe got rust after a rock chip. I have rock chips and mine never rust. The prev-gen cars have a much better (less environmentally-friendly) paint job |
