Seat Motor Faliure
On my 87 300 TDT the driver's seat motor is failing. I believe the rear motor or gear rack is sticking, so occasionally when changing settings from my wife's to mine, the seat ends up twisted, with the right side rear higer than the left. this occurred about a year ago, i mokeyed with the switches for 10 minutes and it sorted itself out. now the problem is permanent.
How difficult is it to replace or repair the mechanism? I am thinking it is much better to remove the seat from the car and the repairs that way, perhaps making some jumper wires so the seat can be electrified on the workbench? Experienced comments welcomed. thanks.

Curious if you managed to sort this one out as I have the exact situation in my w124.
Any input you have from your experience would be appreciated.

This is probably a situation where you will want to remove the seat and clean/lube the mechanisms... lot of little bits and grime can get jamed in there over the years.
