202 driveline vibration 3/4th gear, moderate speeds. Not a flexdisk

Car is a c230 with 140k, 10 years old. Flexdisk done at 80, 2 years ago. Within last 1500 miles started getting this shuddering. Nothing at idle, so no engine mounts. Trans mount? I called the DEALER and they "think" it might be a bad driveshaft. I sure hope not! What do you guys think, before I pay for diagno$i$

I'm chasing a similar problem.
Had the front flex disc changed 2 weeks ago, which helped some.
Changed the transmission mount last week, which didn't seem to make any difference.
Now I'm questioning the driveshaft center-support bearing.
This is a rpm related problem, just a rough feel in the driveline from about 40 mph up.

hmm. I am having my Bilsteins (Manny, we talked about this. HDs, no springs - trying to save $) next Friday, and they are going to look at it. Have to say it does remind me of my old 300d, which was MUCH worse, but turned out to be the axles. All the fluid leaked and killed them both. Not sure how they are set up on this car, but sure feels similar. Center support bearing? What does this do?

The driveshaft is 2-piece ( front half & rear half ), between the 2 halfes there is a U-joint & spline.
This section of the driveshaft runs in a bearing, which is supported in a rubber mount.

I'm not about to ( yet ) tear my driveshaft out, or apart. ;)

ok, bearing sounds plausible - this car has killed about all its bushings and bearings except for this one - haha. Will await tech diagnosis. Thanks Manny and good luck! Keep me posted

Will202,

Did you ever get any resolution on the shuddering?

Damn tires! It stopped after spring came. Figured out my Z-rated Michelin Pilot Sport A/S must deform when sitting in cold temps, and flat spot overnight or something. No issues when it's warm out. FWIW, tires have been responsible for probably 75% of my driveability issues in the life of this car. Tires really are the most important part of the car (well maybe next to motor and brakes)
