Your dealer can't help??? Something doesn't sound right. All MB dealers have special tool 164-589-03-63-00. It's a free-wheeling hub assembly that bolts on between the wheel and either rear hub. It's specifically made for towing vehicles which are stuck in PARK.

my ml did the same thing...it spent the night at the Egg Roll Express drive thru window! don't know about your s class but there is a little button you can use an ink pen to press located under the "P N R D" letters near the shifter...put in the pen (or any other similar size object) and presto...the car will go into gear. my problem was the 'brake light switch' which only cost $13 for the part!
