Anyone replaced voltage regulator ? 1996 E320 W210 M104
I searched here and have found that the older voltage regulator has brushes in it, but I can't find a post about a newer alternator; the part shown (for my car) in fastlane looks like mine does and DOES have brushes. I took the plastic cover off the back of the alternator in hopes of replacing it but i cannot get the plate containing it off - it's stuck by many terminal connectors. Has anyone done this? thanks, Tom

are you trying to remove the plastic cover?.If so there are 3 maybe 4 clips that hold it along with 3 screws .the pic you show looks to be the same style as the one in my car.The clips are around the out side carefully pry them with a screw driver I broke one of mine getting it off.

I am trying to remove/replace the regulator. I already have the plastic cover off. There were 4 screws & no clips that I saw. Thanks for the reply
Also, I wonder if the Bosch alternator fits it?http://catalog.eautopartscatalog.com/mercedesshop/sophio/quote.jsp?clientid=catalog.mercedesshop&cookieid=1UR10S2EL1YX18ERS8&baseurl=http://catalog.peachparts.com/&partner=mercedesshop&year=1996&product=F4000-65284&application=000341469
